UNIQLO Grand Rue Store to open on Thursday October 26 2023 at 10AM

25 October 2023, Luxembourg - The Japanese retailer UNIQLO will open the doors of its first store on 22 Grand-Rue tomorrow, Thursday October 26th 2023 at 10:00 following a Japanese taiko drummer performance and a ribbon cutting ceremony in the presence of the Honourable Mayor Lydie Polfer and His Excellency the Japanese Ambassador to Luxembourg, Matsubara Tadahiro. To celebrate this milestone, many offers and promotions will be featured for customers alongside the UNIQLO LifeWear collection.

Aiming to provide clothing that is designed to make everyone’s life better, UNIQLO is recognised for LifeWear: innovative, high-quality clothing that is universally appealing in design and comfort. This unique philosophy, which is appreciated by customers worldwide, includes hero products such as HEATTECH, Cashmere sweaters and Ultra Light Down, that will occupy a prominent space  at the UNIQLO Grand-Rue store.

From 26 October until 4 November, customers are also able to enjoy special opening promotions exclusively available at the store that include  products such as Cashmere sweaters, Ultra Light Down jackets, Parka’s, Rayon Blouses, Ankle pants, Wireless bra’s, AIRism boxers and many more. We are also very excited to launch in Luxembourg, as a world exclusive, the UNIQLO and JW Anderson Fall - Winter 2023 collection on 26 October.

Since 16 October, customers are already  able to benefit from the UNIQLO Luxembourg Click&Collect service. Customers who  order online can  collect their purchases as soon as the store opens on 26 October. The first 100 customers to collect their order will receive the hugely popular round mini shoulder bag as a gift!

For the opening of the UNIQLO Grand-Rue store, the retailer has partnered with various local talents and institutions in order to showcase their work as well as connect with the local community.

In line with other partnerships UNIQLO has established with major art institutions like the MOMA in New York, Tate Modern in London and the Louvre in Paris, aiming to make Art accessible to All, is the collaboration with Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean whose mission is to collect, conserve and present the most relevant contemporary art of our time and make it easily accessible to all.

UNIQLO customers will be able to discover an exclusively curated reading area by Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean at  the heart of our store. Here you will find books published by Mudam Luxembourg – Musée d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean, inviting people to sit down and enjoy a moment of reading during a shopping spree. The reading area curated by the Museum’s director Bettina Steinbrügge will be regularly updated.

Another  partnership worth a store visit is with furniture designer Julie Conrad. Julie, known for choosing recycled materials in her designs, proposes and develops collections that combine functionality and aesthetics, always with a narrative approach. For the UNIQLO Grand-Rue store, not only did Julie design the reading area space, but she also created  the Loom Chairs. These chairs that have  a simple wooden frame and a textile seat, developed in collaboration with carpenter Norbert Brakonier,  have their seat  woven from fabrics taken from clothes brought in by customers as part of our RE.UNIQLO initiative.

Furthermore, to celebrate the opening of the first store in Luxembourg, we have asked  Luxembourg-native illustrator, Lynn Cosyn, known for her colorful, imaginary world of whimsical, poetic characters. to create an exclusive tote bag that will be offered to  the first 100 customers.
